John Carroll Weekend in Washington, DC
The Georgetown Entertainment & Media Alliance (GEMA) presents a night of stand-up comedy featuring nationally renowned alumni comedians including Paul Mecurio (L’85), star of his own special on Comedy Central and winner of two Emmy and Peabody awards, Jeff Maurer (C’02), winner of the 2009 Funniest Fed Contest and one of D.C.’s most promising young comics, and Jeff Civillico (C’05), prominent Vegas-based comedian for corporations and colleges. The late show will also include Ken Rynne (C’78), a former member of The Capitol Steps and now with Planet Washington. Emcee George Peacock (C’84) has opened at the DC Improv and Warner Theater for Mike Birbiglia, Jim Gaffigan, Larry Miller and Brian Regan.
Two shows, at 8 and 10:30 p.m., will be held at the legendary D.C. Improv Comedy Club. Tickets are $33 each and must be purchased on the Improv website. *You will not be registered for this event until you visit the Improv website and purchase your ticket.*
For the 8 p.m. show, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Seating is first come, first serve.
For the 10:30 p.m. show, doors open at 10 p.m. Seating is based on the time of ticket purchase. Buy early for better seats.
